Question mgetty & serial printer

I am trying to configure a printer for a Digi AccelePort Xp. I had it working at one time, so I now cabling is correct and everything works. Seems like I remember that I had to make sure that mgetty was controlling the port. Can someone tell me how to check this (I read the man but didn't find what I was looking for). If mgetty is stopping me from printing to that port, how do I get it to stop. I did this before, but for the life of me I can't remember how I did it. Frustration certainly leads to memory loss. Thanks for any assistance.

Thanks folks, but I solved my problem. Looking back, I'm not sure how much sense my question made anyways.

thanks again.
