I've installed redhat and it works fine. But I would now like to install a good messenger. I use msn and yahoo. Which software should I use?
I used ymessenger and amsn, but with both the sound didn't work
And with gaim, I can't connect to yahoo
So is there better software, or are my problems easy to fix?
Gaim is a multi-protocol instant messaging client for Linux, BSD, MacOS X, and Windows. It is compatible with AIM (Oscar and TOC protocols), ICQ, MSN Messenger, Yahoo, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, and Zephyr networks.
Ummm...here is a personal note on the whole gaim/yahoo issue. I read that there was a bug and that it was fixed in GAIM version 0.59.8 . I went to there site and downloaded the newest version GAIM 0.59.9 . Interestingly, yahoo messenger still did not work so I thought that there was something wrong with my setup. After messing around for a while I downloaded 0.59.8 and miraculously yahoo messenger worked.
Now this does make any sense to me but thats how it is so if you run into problems try version 0.59.8
<EDIT>
Edited for spelling errors. I've been drinking
