Please, let me know which one is the best messenger for linux. It is very important to me to be able to SEND AND RECEIVE files from MS Messenger users.

You have a big choice. One of the most popular ones (supporting MSN) is Gaim (available on your installation cds).

can't receive files!!!
 

M problem is what follows: I can receive files from but I can't send them to a Windows user. The other person gets a message telling him that the file has strange characters or that it is too long (this happens with any file I try to send). Then the trasmission fails.
By the way, I am connected to the Internet through a Linksys router. Is there a setting I should change?
