Messed up gnome menu bar -- need help fixing it please

OS: Linux Mint (Katya)
Menu: Gnome

When rebooting, frequently I get an error that the panels couldn't load and do I want to delete them or not. Normally I say DON'T DELETE and then go to the terminal and run $ killall gnome-panel and it fixes it. The odd time I have to run that 3 or 4 times though.

Anyway... This morning I wasn't paying attention and instead of clicking I used the shortcut key. When doing this I accidentally used the shortcut for DELETE. Now I have no window tabs at the bottom of my screen (on the menu bar).

Can someone tell me how to add that back please?

Also, can someone tell me where the panel configuration file for the panels is stored so that I can change which panels are loaded first?

Okay... I figured out which widget I had to add to the panel... Window List

However... It is not all the way over to the left. How can I start the windows list from the far left instead of the middle?
