Messages sent to main console.

When on of the systems telneted into the server does something (like attach the CDRW) then messages appear on the main console. This is a problem because they appear in the middle of the screen where my customers programs are running. How do I turn off these messages.

You need to edit /etc/syslog.conf and remove the line that sends messages to '*'.

You can also try dmesg -n 1 to stop console messages appearing on the console.
