Hey, it is not Windows but Linux here. Making comparisons with Windows is senseless. There are many things you can do with Linux but not with Windows. First what you require is senseless. Think not about partitions but rather about file systems. For kernel these are just two completely unrelated filesystems. File system has to mounted somewhere - under some directory. My bet is what you need is binding. You can bind mounting point with sub-directory in $HOME directory. Functionality will be as all files on second partition are just files in this directory. Say if your second partition contains music only - and is for this solely purpose - the mount point for this partition can be bind with $HOME/Music. Now opening this directory will show all files just in place. If there is music player looking for files by default in $HOME/Music - there is now no need to change anything in configuration.
