Cool Mepis 3.3.1?

I just purchased a new Seagate Hard Drive SATA 160 GB. We made a CDROM of Mepis. I booted and installed Mepis successfully. Upon reboot my bios dos not recognize a hard drive. In the BIOS, I already had the only one refrence about SATA enabled. The ASUS K8T800 motherboard has a Primary SATA L shaped connection and the Antec case had the correct L shaped power connection. The only other connection on the SATA drive was a 4 pin slot? My questions are will Mepis be alright with a SATA drive? Is my SATA drive connected completely? Just the power and transfer cable? I would think it is not a BIOS issue since the motherboard came with the SATA connections and it is enabled. I am a Newbie to both SATA and Mepis! Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Try this next. Power-cycle it completely down (turn the damn thing off ), wait about a minute and then turn it back on.

I am running Mepis 3.3 and have a 120 GB seagate external drive. They work famously together.

As for why is yours not working, That I cant answer. Try rebooting WHILE the thing is ON.

Remember, it will show up in the mnt directory, not the devices one.
