Menu bar for all programs has disappeared
Heyo.
This problem has been racking my brain for quite some time. I am using Kubuntu 12.04 with KDE on a Gateway/Acer Netbook. I've used this configuration for quite some time without any problems. The bar which normally displays File > Edit > Tools etc is gone. Disappeared. It is gone from all programs. Firefox, Vuze, Dolphin, you name it. CTRL + M doesn't Work. I have even tried setting a new keyboard shortcut and that didn't work either. The only existing posts I've found online about this are for much older versions of Kubuntu. I cannot recall exactly what changes I would have made to my system to have caused this, outside of possibly pressing CTRL + M by accident and it not working in reverse for some reason. I dunno. In a situation like this I would normally just uninstall and reinstall but I wouldn't know what program is responsible for delivering the menu bar to all applications, if any at all. I have my information backed up so I can reinstall my OS if necessary but I'd much rather avoid having to do that. Any help would be appreciated. |
Researched it...
Users posted this as a solution in unity, hope it works for you....
Code:
reset |
I typed reset into terminal. No dice. Even tried CTRL + M afterwards.
Nothing. For the heck of it I tried 'sudo reset' as well but, to my dismay, no avail. |
Fixed
