media player quest... again

I know there's a ton of threads on this subject but I haven't been able to find exactly what I'm looking for. I'm have Kubuntu Edgy and about 10k mp3 files. There are a bunch of great players out there, but they all seem to be missing at least one of the following:

Smart Playlists: I want to be able to group songs by rating
Media Library: separate from the playlist (not like Amarok collection browser, more like winamp)
Ratings: should handle 1-5 stars
iPod: should sync ratings and easy file transfers
Tag Editing: should be able to change tags and retain ratings/stats.

Example: I want to listen to "playlistA" while browsing through my media library and editing tags/adding music/deleting 1 star songs/and so on. Then I want to transfer a playlist "unrated songs" to the iPod. After rating songs on the iPod I want to update my media library with the new ratings.

I've been using Amarok, but the lacking media library has me looking elsewhere. I've downloaded Juk, Rhythmbox, Beep, XMMS, Banshee, and Songbird. They all seem to be missing at least one of the above, please let me know if I'm wrong. Any advice or workarounds will be appreciated.

With that wihlist you'll want a player with plugin support, like Amarok, Banshee or Audacious. Select one you like the general layout of and search for plugins to add missing functionality. Failing this, you can comparatively easily write missing plugins yourself (if you've got the time and skill) or maybe get someone else to do it.
