all your drives are under /dev/hda or /dev/sda or hdb or sdb etc.
this is one of your storage devices, either your hard drive or a pen drive.
1 means the first partition of that device

To elaborate, the 3rd letter (a or b, in most cases) specifies which physical device. For example, if you have two hard drives, the first one might be sda and the second sdb. The number specifies the partition on that drive.
