Cool Meaning of -R, --g, -G

Dear Friends,

I have the following two questions :

1) chown -R oracle.oinstall /usr/app

what is the meaning of "-R" . Here oracle and oinstall is the user and "/usr/app" is a directory .

2) useradd -g oinstall -G apache apache

What is the meaning of SMALL 'g' and CAPITAL 'G' ?

Here I make "oinstall" and "apache" both are group .

Please read both 'man chmod' and 'man group' minus the single quote marks and learn the answers for yourself.

For example from the manpage for chmod;

-R, --recursive
change files and directories recursively
