MDADM: how to mirror installed LM 17 disk


Computer:i5,8G,2x500GB HD. one of 500GB hard drive, /dev/sda, is installed Linux Mint Rebecca with 20GB boot/470GB home EXT4/10GB swap. I want to add one more 500GB hard drive, /dev/sdb, to create RAID 1 with old one. Is it possible? and How to command?

Did you bother to search ?. This is covered in multiple tutorials online.
There is no simple command for it. The array has to be set up degraded, data copied, and the array confirmed.

I searched, almost all the guide is about how to Raid partitions which is quite easy than whole boot disk, however, your answer indicate it's not dead end. Thank you.

You have to do each partition separately - you can't just mirror the whole disk if it's partitioned.
this looks like a reasonable guide for Ubuntu - Mint will be the same.
