md5sum, is there any easy way???


i know what are md5sums
and why do we need them?

now i want to take one more step
usuallay i get the md5sum of downloads on the websites
what i do is that after downloading the s/w i generate md5sum

md5sum xyz.tar.gz

them i conpare the output with the one on the website

is there any easy way
or automatic comparision????

Pull the .md5 as well, then use md5sum with the -c switch; should make your life easier.
