Md5sum

I must be doing something wrong but for the life of me I cannot figure it out. I downloaded the 9.10 ISO and tried to md5sum the download but I got a "no such file or directory" when I tried to enter "cd download_directory" in the terminal. What am I doing wrong.

check your case as Linux is case sensitive...

The case is correct. I am using the Ubuntu guide for md5sum but I cannot get anything but no such file or directory. Is there some other way to do this?

are you trying to go to a new directory using md5sum or are you just trying to change directories?
Code:
md5sum -c ~/download_directory/filename
or
Code:
cd ~/download_directory

Say it ain't so. When you said case, i knew that I had the right case, but after a second look, my download file is "Downloads". I feel like a noob (which I am). We are all noobs to one degree or another and I had not done an md5sum in a year or so I just screwed up. Thank you for your patience. BTW, all I was trying to do was change directories so I could check the Ubuntu 9.10 distro that I had just downloaded. It was fine.
