MCC Interim

Out of curiosity, is there any download for this veteran distro? I have tried ftp://ftp.mcc.ac.uk/pub/linux/mcc-interim/ but the browser just states down, and asst the end says that it can't connect. If there any other official download?

Hi,

AFAIK there is no official download since the maintainer recommended all users to switch to Debian in 1993. You're about 20 years too late.

Evo2.

Okay, are there any working downloads, non-official if possible, and if the site posted is official, does it actually work?

I have found a download site, but what is the latest version, 1.2+ or 2.0, because as I remember, version 2.0 is actually Debian, so which is the latest?

I am not entirely sure why you would want this. The last version per wikipedia is from 1996. I cannot even see it running well on modern platforms. The article says 1.0 is the latest from 1996.

I especially like this (from wikipedia's page), which you were given above as well:

The 1.0 distribution of MCC Interim pointed out that Debian was "five times the size of MCC, and quite comprehensive",[2] and the final distribution encouraged users to switch to Debian by providing transitional support.[5]

But on the official mcc page, there is a 1.2 version, but I think 2.0 is actually debian.

Yes there is 1.2 from 1996....go for it if you want. It is almost 20 years out of date.
