Maximum number of move/copy operations RH5?

Hey Guys,

I am currently experiencing an issue with Red Hat 5 whereby I have a ProIV based application trying to move in the region of 3500 files. When asked to move this number of files the application simply falls over.

However, when I leave in the region of 500 files in the source directory, there are no problems. The app in question is usually pretty stable, so was wondering of there is a cap on the number of move or copy operations that linux can perform at once.

If there is an upper limit - is there anyway that this can be modified?

Thanks in advance for any help.
