maxi my lenovo R61i laptop hardware/ fedora 8
I have installed a fresh fedora 8 on laptop. Question #1 can I install a better version on top of this such as fedora 14? or is there a newer version out there. And when I Google fedora 14, which one do I use. I am trying to maxi out all hardware that i have on laptop (cambra, phone, ect). My goal is to have the laptop complete for use of small business june 2011. I am familiar to linux and its different flavors.

lenovo R61i specs say it has a core cuo processors and up to 4 GB of RAM.
You can surely run Fedora 14 on it. I will download the 32 bit LIVE CD and go for it! http://fedoraproject.org/get-fedora |
If you want it for a business system, I would consider a more stable distro. Fedora's release cycle is only 6 months, and older versions become unsupported after 13 months.
I would consider to use Debian, Slackware or Scientific Linux, they are very well tested and have a much longer support cycle. |

Thanks to everyone I have decided to have the Ubuntu Linux 11.4 Beta 4 installed onto my laptop. So before it gets installed all the way I will move my questions onto that forum. or a different section of this forum if I can find it.
