MATE alternative to zenity?

I've installed MATE 1.6 on my debian wheezy.

Following
Code:

http://forums.mate-desktop.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1485
I've removed the gnome packages, so now I don't have zenity.

Is there an alternative which runs under MATE?

TIA

Hello. Perhaps Whiptail, Dialog, Wenity or Yad, are you tight on space unless Zenity only works in Gnome? You can leave Gnome or at lest parts installed making Mate default.

A quich check shows zenity (and yad) sitting happily in /usr/bin on my Lubuntu 13.10 partition. Perhaps
Code:

sudo apt-get install zenity

As explained on MATE forums the application in MATE that does what Zenity does in Gnome is Mate dialogs.

Realistically speaking as soon as you installed mate-core you will have installed mate-dialogs. You have shown in your thread on MATE forums that mate-dialogs is installed on your system I also see you have started a new thread on MATE forums about getting it to autostart.
