Master password not working in a new installation of Keepass.

I have un-installed Keepass2 using software manager because it would not accept my master password. I then installed Keypassxc but it would not allow me to create a new master password. I assume KP2 is not completely un-installed. This seems like the best password manager. Can anyone help me make it work? I am new to mint 18 and using a Lenovo T510.

Are there any hidden keepass* files in your /home? They likely need to be renamed or deleted. (Renaming is likely the best strategy to play it safe.) You can use the locate command to check.

My KeepassX has a two configuration files in ~/.config.
