Mandriva unable to boot up.
 

Good Day,

This is my first time encountered this problem.
I have a Mandriva 2010.2 GNOME Desktop.

The scenario goes like this.
When i power on my computer
system starts to boot and after a few seconds
its suddenly halting or system shutdown.

Message from verbose mode:
please help

Do i need to reinstall MBR?
Please provide me some instructions.

Have you changed your /etc/inittab it should be set at run level 2, atleast that is what mine is set at.

No sir i didnt change /etc/inittab.

I have check it using safe mode and it goes like this

Sir how to check if the configuration is good.

There is no default run level listed
I'll post mine in a few minutes Your default runlevel should be set to 3

Sir i already solved the problem.
my inittab file is set default as runlevel 0 that's why its halting or system shutdown.
Using safemode on mandriva entering single user.
i have look for the location or directory of /etc/initab

using command i changed from to and try to boot up and its works.

Iam wondering how this happened into my computer.

Maybe there was a fault in an update
