Do i need to reinstall MBR?
Please provide me some instructions. |
Have you changed your /etc/inittab it should be set at run level 2, atleast that is what mine is set at.

I have check it using safe mode and it goes like this # # inittab This file describes how the INIT process should set up # the system in a certain run-level. # # Author: Miquel van Smoorenburg, <miquels@drinkel.nl.mugnet.org> # Modified dor RHS Linux by Marc Ewing and Donnie Barnes # # Default runlevel. The runlevels used by Mandriva Linux are: # 0 - halt (Do NOT set initdefault to this) # 1 - Single user mode # 2 - Multiuser, without NFS (The same as 3, if you do not have networking) # 3 - Full multiuser mode # 4 - unused # 5 - X11 # 6 - reboot (Do NOT set initdefault to this) and so on.... |
Sir how to check if the configuration is good.

There is no default run level listed
I'll post mine in a few minutes Your default runlevel should be set to 3 |

my inittab file is set default as runlevel 0 that's why its halting or system shutdown. Using safemode on mandriva entering single user. i have look for the location or directory of /etc/initab using Code:
vi Code:
id:0:initdefault: Code:
id:5:initdefault: Thanks for the information. |
You're welcome Glad to know you fixed it.
|
Is it possible that system change it?
