Mandriva, netgear wnda3100v2, adapter install questions
 
Well i tried to figure it out through the posts but i have to ask.
i used to be into linux, so i remember somethings. but for all questioning purposes.

im new to linux
im new to forums

cliche of a newb

mandrivas new network interface installer:
use windows driver with ndiswrapper.
use the ndiswrapper driver bcmwlhigh6
are you sure? yes.


error:
unable to find the ndiswrapper interface
unable to find network interface for selected device using ndiswrapper.



ndiswrapper -l says
bcmwlhigh6 driver installed
device 0846:9011 present


help?

wow we have not used the ndiswrapper bcm driver for years in mandriva. go into harddrake2 or what ever it is the configure your computer icon. make sure you are connected to the internet hard wire. go set up your bcm card it will down load the firmware for your system the driver is already in the kernel since 2006
the latest. if not. you can do it the. way we have been doing it since 2004. in 2004 I started using this it works every time and has Mandriva info step by step. Now also depending on your kernel the 2.6.35.7 kernel now has a new all open source bcm_sta driver. it is still a hit and miss. So I have all my users use the Broadcom firmware and the open source driver that braodcom let us have. it is the firm ware we are unable to distribute you have to download it your self by request.
