mandriva file tree
 

hello,

i was looking forward to download 10.2 and found that the tree is around 300MB and far from 2.1GB. What is up with this? Is it so that i download the tree here and download the actual system during install?

as you've said, the file tree is 300 megs, it's the packages that take up the rest of the approx 2.1 gigs of the distro.

Mandrake/mandriva, well you'd have to download at least the first 2 of the distro (or the complete DVD image) and burn to disc. If you then start an install, when it asks you for the next disc it will just offer the option to carry on if you don't have the next cd, though I don't recall if that's after the second disc or third - the power pack version used to be 4/5 discs, pro version 7 but download was only 3.
