Mandriva details needed ???
 

Can anyone help me with these queries:

1. What is the maximum number of CPUs which can be supported by Mandriva 2010.1 RC1/2?
2.Minimum memory which can be supported ?
3.Recommended Memory which Mandriva can support?
4.Maximum no. of NICs supported?
5.Maximum Storage?
6.Recommended Storage?

What is the context of these questions?

How much of this is on the Mandriva web site?

Several of these are not unique to Mandriva---eg the number os CPUs supported is a function of the kernel being used.

Why do you care about the minimum memory supported? Do you have a low end machine with low memory? If so, why do you ask about the maximum number of CPU/numberof NIC/storage? Do you have a machine with 100k CPUs, 1000 NICs, 1000Tb with 2Mb of RAM?
Anyway the answers depends on the context. It all depend on the task you are intending to do. Some tasks require more memory than others, some filesystems support more storage than others and some kernel settings support more CPU than others.

I need to simply prepare an excel sheet with these data. I explored Mandriva Site but no help. I will be posting it on their forum too. But Just for information as my intention is not to deploy but submit the answers to my client. thats it.

What are your clients going to do with that sheet? Web servers? Desktops? Embedded software? HPC supercomputing? Netbooks? File server? What is the hardware? x86? ARM? MIPS? Are your client going to compile their kernel or customize the distro? Which filesystem are they going to use?

-> More than you have. The most powerful computer in the world runs linux.

2.Minimum memory supported ?
-> 4MB

3.Recommended Memory?
-> 400 000 000 TB

4.Maximum no. of NICs supported?
-> More they there are in the whole world.

5.Maximum Storage?
-> 100^100 TB

6.Recommended Storage?
-> 800 000 000 TB

In other words, there are no limits. The system is just not able to do some tasks when the requirements are not met for the task.

My Client is <removed> and all they are working for the maximum figure so that they can study what processors or memory they can work out to outmost.

Here is what Mandriva says on their web site:

There are no upper limit specified.

I do not understand this. I also cannot imagine VMWare hiring someone to tell them the specs on Mandriva.

AND: For you to post questions here and then publically identify your client is a very big mistake.

Is that valid for every Linux Server?

As I could find http://www.novell.com/linux/releasen.../#KernelLimits for SUSE.
The same way, Don't Mandriva have such information.
