Angry Mandrakes 9 Installiation Problem


Hi i recently bought a dell laptop with windows 98 and tried to install mandrakes linux i booted up my comp on windows and put in madrakes 9 cd the autorun came up and i click on installing linux and a message came up
" Your machine will be rebooted now and mandrake linux will be installed on your computer, this operation can be dangerous for your data, so if its not already done click on canel, backup your data and the restart the installiation"
i click on ok because i backed up all my data and wanted to carry on with the instillation and when i click on ok nothing happens it just stays on the same screen
could some one help me out on this situation

Make a boot disk(if your computer doesnt have bootable cdrom) and reboot the machine with(cdrom in the drive and boot disk in floppy drive). This will start installation program from your cdrom...and thats it.
Make boot disk like this:
From windows, use rawrite (on the CDROM at /dosutils) to create a boot disk from the image bootdisk.img on the CDROM at /images
and then you can simply pop it in the floppy drive and reboot.

the problem is that i can only have either my cdrom or floopy dirve in at one time because they use the same slot and i only have one slot

Make your machine bootable from the cdrom...hit del whn booting and it will take you to bios setup. Change the boot device to your cdrom. I hope your computer supports booting from cdrom.
