Mandrakelinux-10.1 install problem
 
hello all , im having a little issue what my Mandrakelinux-10.1 installation.. check it out .. i downloaded the iso's burned into cd and all that good stuff .. put cd 1 in the cd rom rebooted my system , went into my bios and changed the boot order so cd rom can boot first and and now when i rbooted the system .. after the bios check finshed running i get a black screen for about 2-3 mins and then my xp loads.. im not really sure whats going on i tried reading around to see if some one had the same issue but wasnt able to find any.. anyway this is my first mandark install .. ive loaded red hat in the past with no problems.. if u have any comments on this issue , plz dont shy.. i need all the help i can get.. im running AMD2000+ system 512 mb ram 1 20gig hd 1 80gig hd geforce2 mx/mx 400 and for monitor im useing an NEC mulitySync p1250.. and im running a dual-boot with win2k and xp pro .and thanx again for ur time

Sounds like the disk is bad, I would reburn at a slower speed, make sure I am burning an image and try again.
You can try the disk that you currently have on another pc to be sure its a bad disk first, also try another boot disk that you know for sure is good in the pc you are having troubles with to make sure it is not the pc.
and recheck bios settings just to be sure.

well god damn u hit the nail right on the head bro .. i burned the cd @ 8X insted of 24x and wow it wored like a dream , hey thanks for your help bro
