Question Mandrake9.1 & WPC11 wireless help!

Ok I am new to linux, and have a laptop running mabndrake 9.1. everything is working fine, I want to install my Linksys wireless card, through reading on the forums, I downloaded the hermes.conf file and put it in the /etc/pcmcia directory. Rebooted and got the good two beeps as was told to get. I also go into the Mandrake Control Center 9.1 and under hardware detected hardware dialog window under ethernetcard it shows my built in network card as EXPRESS PRO 100 and my wireless as eth1 where it shows up as
Vendor: Linksys WPC11 Version 3
Description:
Old device file: /dev/eth1
Modulerinoco_cs
type: Network

So it seems the driver for the card is working, right?!
Ok if so, now where and what do I have to do to set up parameters to have it connect to my wireless access point?
Here are settings I have to set up in WindowsXP for same card below to connect to the WAP11:
I need to know where to add things like:
AUTHENTICATION=MUST USE SHARED...
CHANNEL=6
ENCRYPTION=128
FRAGMENTATION=2432
MAXLISTEN=3
NETWORK=INFRASTRUCTURE
POWER=DISABLED
PREAMBLE=LONG TX PREAMBLE
RTS=2432
SSID=########
TRANSMIT=FULLY AUTO
PASSPHRASE=%%%%%%%%%

these are all the settings I have to set in WinXP to get my card to connect to the access point.

What type of link light activity are you getting?

What type of address resolution are you using static or dynamic?

I am more that willing to help you just to keep Mr. Gate$' hands out of your pockets.

Mandrake 9.1 sees my linksys wpc11 card, I get the notorious 2 beeps upon bootup that everyone says I should be getting, I go to mandrake control panel and under the network cards, I see the built in NIC and as ETH1 I see the WPC11 Linksys card. Now the only thing it seems I need is info to set my access points parameters.
I use dynamic ip resolution from the access point, but what I need is to know where to enter the data so that the access point and NIC talk to each other.
The information looks like this ( this is what I enter in windows xp to get them to talk to one another):

AUTHENTICATION=MUST USE SHARED...etc
CHANNEL=6
ENCRYPTION=128
FRAGMENTATION=2432
MAXLISTEN=3
NETWORK=INFRASTRUCTURE
POWER=DISABLED
PREAMBLE=LONG TX PREAMBLE
RTS=2432
SSID=*******
TRANSMIT=FULLY AUTO
PASSPHRASE=*******

I just have no idea where to enter this data in linux. Someone instructed me to look for a file called " kwificonfig " in another post to set these parameters in a graphical interface, but I did a search on Mandrake9.1 and it does not seem to exist.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Otherwise I fear Bill Gates may win the war.
