On a scale of newb ratings i would be a 2. I have installed mandrake 10.0 in the past but i got a faulty install disc and the program to read my broadband always failed on the boot. But i got the comp rebuilt and im planning on putting linux back on. I'm interested in Fedora Core 2 cause i heard its pretty stable, and i want to leanr command but keep it fun at the same time. I also want to learn web design and graphic create with gimp. I heard of xandros for the first time today i was hopeing someone can enlighten me on that. But i want to know what everyone else thinks. Also i want to have a kick a@@ desktop, so whatever is easier(im talking like transparent stuff and moniter of my hardware, similar to whats on the xp task manager) Pleae help me what you think is best. Thanks alot
Both are better supported than Xandros, which is very nice if you are a bit of a n00b. Personally I prefer MDK instead of FC, because the look and feel attracted me more (no rational description, I'm afraid).
If you don't mind paying money you are as well able to get support at mandrakeclub.com (fc-support is usually free ).
what about the the distro on this site for the Mandrake 10.0 offical does it work properly...Im figuring since the first install i had, had 10 discs and this only has three that i will be missing some apps, but what if i just get the first disc cause that is the one that was faulty
