Question Mandrake won't see certain CD's

Hi,

I tried installing a sybolic algebra package called Maple into my PC and when I try to see whats on the disk it just says there is nothing in there which is really weird as it sees it under windows.

This is also the case with other CD's, it will work fine under windows but Mandrake won't even look at it, a prime example of this is with real player (I downloaded a copy from the web) there is stuff which Ks CD will see but not realplayer. Wot's going on???

you are sure the drive is mounted after the cd is in it?

you may want to (after disk in drive) try mount /dev/cdrom
as root
on some systems just mount cdrom works.
good luck

Are these CDs regular CDRs or CDRW's?
If CDRWs, are they formated as InCD or DirectCD disks?

What type of music CD?

I tried mount /dev/cdrom with no success.

The CD's I am trying to read from are CDRW, the thing is they worked once but not now which is a bit weird.

I am trying to view normal music CD's in real player, I set the thing to look for .wmv files but still no success.

I am lost and confused...
