Unhappy Mandrake Linux Boot Disk Question!!!

I have just downloaded Mandrake Linux version 9.0 and created a bott floppy disk out of the .iso file. When i restart my computer it always says boot failed. When I look back at the install guide, it says that if your cdrom files are on your hard drive, then boot from an hd.img file. so i recreated a boot disk using that file, and it still didnt work. Is there a way to boot mandrake linux from my hard drive using only a floppy disk and nothing else? Please reply.

Thank You.

The only way I know of is to use something like Tomsrtbt Linux to try and invoke the installation. I'm having something similar where my pcmcia drivers keep crashing, preventing me from installing. I hear Slackware has a floppy-disk based distro, but I have yet to find it. Can you try, like, uncompressing the image files to a folder on your hard disk then trying again? ...or you can try the Network boot disk and try installing it via the internet over a broadband conection if you have one.
