I've partitioned my drive, and have Windows XP on one partition and I don't know how to install mandrake, i've set my BIOS to boot from CD.


Error1312 told me to:

Simply insert the first mandrake disc into your cdrom station and reboot your computer. If you get some text in DOS-like environment and the last line is : 'boot:', then simply press enter. You should get a graphical interface now which will guide you through the setup. Be carefull at the partioning part though.


I've done this but, it just goes staight to windows XP

when you say that you have set your bios to boot from the cd what exactly did you do ?
Is the cd before the hd in the boot sequence or after?
The correct way to do this is first boot from cd after boot hd.
Does the cd start spinning when you try to boot ?
if yes do you see anything different when you have the cd in than when you have it out of the drive or is it the same in both cases?
Do you get any error messages?
Does your computer try to boot the cd and then reboot and go on windows or what exactly is happening?
