Mandrake Kernel Compile Help ?!?!?!?!

Hi Linux fans,

i'm a newbie trying to compile the kernel for my Mandrake 9.1 & everything seems to work fine, but at the end i can't make the Lilo start the new kernel. i edit the lilo.config file , so the new kernel is added, but when i restart my PC, i get the same old options on the Lilo Boot screen.

So i would really appreciate it if someone can tell my where i can find a good kernle guide for Mandrake or How-To's.

Thanks for your help!

see ya, TheSchemeta!

When you say the lilo.config file, do you mean /etc/lilo.conf? If not, that's what you should edit.
The real problem is almost certainly that you forgot to run lilo. Whenever you edit /etc/lilo.conf, you need to run lilo to update the changes
Hope that helps
