Mandrake dual boot problems

I've installed Mandrake and Windows XP and on dual boot setup, I'm using Smart boot manger to select which O/S but when I select Mandrake I just get a load of 9s appear on the screen.

Can anyone help?

I don't know what the smart boot manager is. Google for: NT Lilo Boot HOWTO
You will dind several how-to's on using the Windows boot loader to boot linux.

I had the 9's problem with Lilo when I switched from Slackware to Mdk 9.2. Your bootloader isn't installed correctly into the upper memory block of your hard disk (I think that's right!!!)

I popped the installation dvd in again and setup lilo again through the configuration without copying the O/S again. Not sure if all distros can install this way though.
