mandrake dual boot

I went to mandrake from red hat, found on redhat that if you reload windows you loose the dual boot. on mandrake I plan to reformat hd and put win98 on first, then 4 partions for mandrake. and use lilo for the dual boot.. If I should have to reload windows later on, will I be able to get lilo working again by booting off mandrake cd, runing f1 then typing rescue ? It is important to me that I be able to automaticly be able to boot up with lilo.

Also I have a creative labs isa modem that is faster than the usr external I use for linux, is it posible to install 2 modems, one for windows and one for linux?

create a bootup disk and you should be able to get lilo back if you have to reload windows..

i am sure its possible to have two modems.. but why can't you just use one for both.. ?? your isa modem sounds like it should be compatible with linux.. is it a hardware modem or winmodem ??

I will creat a boot disk when installing this time.

the creative labs is a softwaremodem and seems to be faster than the external us robatics. I was not able to get it to work with linux. I am at the end of the line on a small town telephone system some 6-7 miles from the office and have trouble to maintain a 28k conection. the window says up to 40k on linux and up to 46k on windows but what i recieve is normaly in the neighborhood of 28k.

If 2 modems would tend to make irq or other problems I will just use the external. I am not looking for anymore problems than I have already.
