Mandrake 9 - Mandrake Update/urpmi

I normally use Mandrake Update to download updates for my system. Recently I updated the urpmi package from the urpmi website (apologies, I can't remember which site that was).

Now when I run Mandrake Update I receive the following message:
error while adding the update medium via urpmi

I think that this may be because the new verson I am running is not supported - at a guess, it will be supported when Mandrake add it as an update via Mandrake Update!

My question is twofold:
1. Is there a way that I can continue to run the Update? Whether via the Mandrake Update option, or via the command line.

2. Since I quite like to update the system, how else can I do this? Is there/what is the command - urpmi ?????

Thanks for your help.

I had this same problem. My solution was to switch to KPackage, which I find easier to use.

In terms of fixing your media, look at the man pages on "urpmi", "urpmi.addmedia", "urpmi.removemedia", "urpmi.update", and so on. I found that removing all my sources and then re-adding them did the trick. (Actually, when I updated urpmi, all my sources were wiped clean, so I HAD to re-add them.)
