Post Mandrake 9.2, Windows XP and TightVNC

Hi Folks

I've just installed Mandrake 9.2 and wish to be able to remotely access the machine based on the fact that it has no monitor.

I installed TightVNC from the distro installation discs and from what I can tell, when I run 'vncserver' from the Konsole (KDE) it is running, yet when I try to connect via my Windows XP Pro machine, it clearly states that it has 'Failed to connect to server'.

I also wish to have TightVNC to load up on boot if possible because, as said before, it will have no monitor soon.

Thanks in advance, folks

First thing to check is to make sure your getting a network connection on that box. If you setup a firewall, check that to see if it allows communications on the VNC port. Lastly, check the vncserver display and make sure that it is the same on your XP box. Hope this helps.
