Yes, windows sucks. I just installed Mandrake 9.2 myself, but I'm still having problems (damn XIO error). Good luck with the install man, it's easy to follow, but I hope you'r not putting it on a laptop with a ATI Radeon IGP 345M, that'll be a whole other bucket of problems.

done

i jst finished installing Mandrake 9,2 now (althought i had to delete my fedora and start from scrath again..which is annoying)and im getting used to it.
Think i like it even more than fedora...its much easyer to use and this time round i knew what i was doing.
althought i prefered my themes on fedora..still its very very nice :)
hope ur install works soon :)

yo wynter919,

if you google for "easy urpmi" then follow the instructions, to include plf and texstar in your urpmi sources (that's the software source links, which probably only point to your install disc's at the moment), then you should be able to get a fair amount of extra themes, icon sets, backgrounds, general artwork etc etc.

I use mandy 9.1, and I've downloaded shitloads of extra "eye candy" and once you're starting to get your head round mandrake a little (well KDE, presuming that you're using the kde default) have a go at getting some of the stuff from kde-look.

regards

John
