Mandrake 9.1 and XP on two seperate hard drives

I have to seperate hard drives, one 60 gig that has windows XP on it and another 2 gig drive that I would like to put Mandrake 9.1 on. I have never used linux before but would like to start messing around with it. I want to set up my machine so that I have to go into the bios and switch which hard drive will boot first. I have seen people talk about using grub or lilo to set up a dual boot screen but I want my machine to boot XP normally without that screen and be able to switch to the linux drive by adjusting the bios boot drive. Is this even possible? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Yea just don't install lilo/grub into mbr, but the partition bootsector intead during installation. But the question is why doing it the long way when you can have the dual boot menu?
