Mandrake 9.0 boots in Text Editor
I installed mandrake 9.0 on my PC, but every time it loads up in Text Mode.
I have tried using the command 'startx' but it doesn't work- it says the command doesn't exist.
Does this mean the Graphical Interface isn't installed?

It certainly sounds like. Try the command XFdrake - it should allow you to set up a basic configuration for you graphical interface.

I tried XFdrake- again it comes up with command not found.
I tried to re-install Mandrake-however when I insert the disk, and choose install it simply crashes- stating 'you can now restart your computer' (Or words to that extent.)
Is there any way to install just the Graphical Interface?

Have you logged in as root before running XFdrake? If you are, then type in urpmi XFdrake and hit enter. That should install XFdrake and let you sort out the X-window system. Make sure you type XFdrake exactly like that, by the way. It is case-sensitive.

Thanks!
Unfortunately it didn't work. It does not recognise urmpi either.
Should I just re-install it?

If those commands are not there, you really need to reinstall.
