Mandrake 8.2: Where exactly is the Kernel located?
Hi Y'all,
is wanted to compile anew kernel. My problem is, i don't know where the currently used kernel is located. I wanted to back it up, so i searched in the directory usr/src, but the only entry in this directory is another directory called RPM. SO, anybody knows what's the deal with that?? |

There is a kernel HOWTO and the Linux Documentation Project http://www.tldp.org http://www.linux.ucla.edu/LDP/HOWTO/Kernel-HOWTO.html |
you may want to backup your kernel source files too, which are kept under /usr/src.
