Mandrake 10 not booting the installer

I recently downloaded Mandrake 10. Today I tryed to install it. I am trying to install Mandrake to a computer running Windows 2000 Professional. Here is what happened:

I booted up into Windows. I put the Mandrake 10 CD 1 in the CD drive. It popped up the Mandrake window. I clicked on Install Mandrake. It popped up a window telling that the computer would reboot and go to the Mandrake installer. The computer rebooted. It rebooted in to Windows. No signs of the Mandrake installer anywhere. The CD drive is the first boot device, because I had been using Knoppix for a while. I really don't know what to do.

If it matters, the PC's specs I'm trying to install it on are:

AMD Athlon (I don't know what model, I just got the PC back from someone that had been using it for forever)
GeForce 2 32 mb
256 mb ram
80 gb HD

So, what should I do?

hi Philipio, welcome to lq. have you tried closing the window when the cd autoruns, and simply rebooting from windows? if that doesn't work, try closing the window, and then choosing shutdown instead of reboot. let the machine set for a few minutes, then powerup. hope that helps.
good luck.

If you can boot knoppix you should be able to boot cd1,could be a bad burn?

I was told on another forum that if I disable my virus protection in the BIOS, then it should work. I will try that along with your suggestions when I get home. Thank you for the help and warm welcome :)
