I tried to install from CD-Rom and used cd-rom.img . When i booted the installation program reported that it does not seem to be a mandrake instalation cd . I am new user with a bit of expirience .
If you have just one big file on the cd, then you probably just copied the iso file to disk. You need to use something like "burn cd image", depending on what software you're using. The result should be a file structure which will allow you to install from the cd.
