Unhappy Mandrake 10 booting

Hey guys, I have a big problem, every like 2nd time i boot to my linux, it freezes, right before gnome comes up it freezes, there is that X pointer and I can do nothing, when I push ctrl + alt + F4, I go to the text mode, I log on as root and type in startx and i get this:

Code:
Fatal server error:
server is alrady active for display 0

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key giving up

Xinit: unable to connec to x server
Xinit: no such process (errno 3): server error
so then I do this: kill -9 -1 and again log onto root and type in startx, but this time I get:

Code:
Errors from xkbcomp one not fatal to the X server

Fatal IO error 104 (connection reset by peeer) on X server ":0.0"
After 0 request (0 known processed) with 0 eevent renaiming
what should I do about it?

Thanks,

Tom
