I am attempting to install Mandrake 10.1 on an AMD Athlon 2000+ system, running WinXP. I have altered the BIOS to look at CD drive first.

When i insert the disc a window comes up with six options, each of which highlights when I hover the cursor. If I then click on "Install Mandrake" nothing happens. However if I click on any of the three right hand options - Firefox loads and I get a request to connect to the internet.

I thought maybe I needed to boot with disc insitu and tried that. Got a black screen with the words "proceeding, please wait ....". I waited 10 mins but could not hear or see any activity occuring. The screen did not change and no lights showing on box.

I guess it's something simple I've missed. help appreciated. Thanks

No error message? Could it be a bad disc?

No error message. I'll email the supplier of the discs and ask him.
