Mandrake 10.0 vs Mepis 3.3.1

Sorry to bother you but i am pretty new to linux and i changed from mepis 3.3.1 to mandrake 10.0 and was wondering if someone could help me out, I know that in mepis that when you are in the konsole terminal logged in under root you can type in apt-get then the program package you want and it will go and fetch it for you but what do you have to do in mandrake i tried apt-get forgetting that this is a mepis only command. is there anything for mandrake like this where you can type in something under root and it automatically goes and finds the package you specified like say super tux for instance, mepis would be apt-get install supertux and it would do just that. ???????????? for mandrake

thanks for your time.....................HELP
