managing the working programs in bootup

Hi
I am using mandrake 10.0 and When installing it I installed all the components for learning better.. Now I want to close some programs working at startup. How can I do that...

You can do this from the "services" menu in Drakconf.

Why do you need to do anything ???. What makes you think reducing the (reported or actual) percentage of memory used will make your "system work more effective" ???.
High usage is symptomatic of Linux - do some searching. This a common misconception.

Linux isn't really using all that RAM, as suggested a google search will give you links to in depth articles about how Linux uses memory. Turning off services that you don't use is good for security as well as speeding up your system start time. It's true that memory usage will probably be lowered as well, but this may depend on what kind of services you switched off and how much memory they were using in the first place.

I am exploring a content before exiting as much as possible... But I want to wine dreamweaver and can not do this operation efficiently... It works too slow... Is there any other way to do it. (Swap space 1.5 gb)
