man pages: how to exit?
This has got to be the dumbest question ever asked ... nevertheless, I'm stumped.
I lack knowedge about shell command foo (at this point, foo is nearly anything but cd, ls and man  ). So, I type man foo and get all the info on foo; it's many pages worth of text but that's fine. I get the information I need, and am ready to actually use the foo command. Problem! How the (beepi-di-beep) do I exit man?? I've tried Ctrl-Break, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-Q, Ctrl-X, Esc, Enter, Ctrl-Shift-Caps-Alt-Æ-Ø-Å, but I can't figure it out! I always end up killing the shell window and opening up a new one (I can do this because I'm in the relative safety of a gui), but there's gotta be a proper way. Even man man says nothing about this, which means I'm allowed to moan and beg here. Moan! Beg! Help! :) |
q :D i think should work

I think it's just the 'q to exit the man :)
