Malfunctioning webpages.

Hello. I have the occasional sporting bet on Betfair, which functions perfectly in Windows. However, when I attempt to use it in Suse 10.2, (Firefox) the menus malfunction to the extent that the arrows are missing at the side of the columns. Also, parts of the text can be missing. This renders the site unusable. Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks in advance.

It is probably a poorly written site since it won't work right in Firefox. But if you want to use the site, you can try this: http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/page/Main_Page
It lets you run IE6 on Linux.

MS keeps releasing "enhancements" to IE which are not supported by other browsers.
If a developer uses those, they lock in IE, which is of course the strategy of the evil empire.

That said, Firefox is not always the best browser (particularly lately I have had more trouble with it), and it pays to have two or three and see which provides you with the
best experience.

"Epiphany" is a simple, fast, rather compatible browser.
"Opera" has a free and a non-free version that I have found generally works with the
high-functionality sites. Presumably you know how to install new software on SUSE, certainly you can get that advice here (though not from me -- I do Debian.)

Thanks to both of you. I'll be working on it later today and let you know how I get on.
