making VPN internet connection
I just inallaed FC4, I can connect to lan without any problem but I don't know how to make a vpn connection
|
There are VPN clients for linux. I used Cisco's from my work machine to remote locations. It required adding modules to the kernel, but it has a shell script to do so, so not much is required. Last I checked, you can't download it from them however, unless you have a Cisco contract of some type. You should see what manufacturer made the VPN system you use, and then see if they have a linux client. I would think most VPN systems have linux clients, but some may not.

I found an instruction to set up the connection but because I installed a very light version of fc4 on my friend's machine the installation need so many dependencies which made me mad and I gave it up
by the way thank you for help |
Well, if you installed one of the Fedora versions for him, you could use yum, which is a great utility to deal with dependencies. You could type "yum install (name)", and it will build all of the dependencies for you. I don't like the rpm system at all, but yum and apt-get make it much easier to deal with.
