making the shell a colored place: how to !?

hi there - good evening dear linux-experts

i run linux- and i want to configure the commandline - tool.

how to setup the colors in command-line?

i want to have white back-ground and colored letters.

well i do not know if this is doable ?

what do you say!?

note: i run opensuse 12.3

Hi, I recommend robbyrussell's oh-my-zsh , with zsh.
