Making shell script a part of linux image

Hi All,

I am using 2.4.18 kernel and I have written a shell script which emulates a Command Line interface (CLI). I want to know if there is any way to make this script a part of the kernel image. When the image is booted the script would be copied into /sbin (or /bin) directory and then can be directly executed as a command.

There is a scripts directory in the kernel source. Currently, I am trying to investigate I can put this script there and then try and copy it in /sbin directory.

Regards,
Mayuresh.

PS: I am new to this forum. If there is any other list to post this querry please let me know.

This might be more appropriate in the programming section of the forum. It's here

If you do decide to post there though, it be best to ask a moderator of this forum to move it to that forum. There are rules against cross posting that people might call you on if you don't.

Welcome to linuxquestions!
